Tropical Storm Quiel is expected to enter the Philippines Area of Responsibility (PAR) this weekend, the PAGASA said Thursday.

Tropical Storm Quiel is still very far that's why the weather condition of the country is still fine, that's according to PAGASA also.



Based on the 11 p.m bulletin released by PAGASA,Tropical Storm Quiel was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 950 kms East of Aparri, Cagayan (17.9°N, 131.7°E ) with maximum sustained winds of 110 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 140 kph. It is forecast to move to the West at the rate of 17 kph.

PAGASA reported also that  Bagyong Quiel will yield an estimated amount of rainfall of 15-25 mm per hour within the 300 km diameter of the tropical storm.

Residents in low lying and mountainous areas under Public Storm Warning Signals are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides. Likewise, those living in coastal areas are alerted against big waves or storm surges generated by this tropical cyclone.

Typhoon Quiel is expected to enhance the Southwest Monsoon and will bring scattered to widespread rains over Southern Luzon and Western Visayas.

Estimated rainfall amount is from 15 - 25 mm per hour within the 400 km diameter of the Typhoon.

The public and the disaster coordinating councils concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 11 AM today.
