The mass shooting that left eight people dead in Seal Beach California on Wednesday appears to be the deadliest in modern Orange County history.
"This could be one of our greatest tragedies," said Seal Beach Police Sgt. Steve Bowles.
Seal Beach saw only one murder between 2005 and 2010.
Witnesses have identified the gunman who killed at least 8 people in a shooting rampage at Salon Meritage as Scott Dekraai.
The shooting broke out around 1:30 p.m. at the beauty shop located in the 500 block of PCH near 5th Street.
The salon was busy at the time of the shooting spree, said Sgt. Steve Bowles of the Seal Beach Police Department.
